Affordable Housing in West Hallam

A summary statement prepared by the West Hallam Green Belt/Affordable Housing Consultation Group (an independent residents group) can be viewed from this link.
On 5 September 2011 East Midlands Housing issued a statement indicating that further investigation of the two sites at Beech Lane and High Lane West have been put on hold while they with the planning and housing staff at Erewash BC to investigate alternatives suggested through the consultation exercise.
Also, their bid made for grant funding for a scheme in West Hallam was not successful. To be able to proceed with a development, a further bid for grant will have to be made whenever grant funding is made available for Housing Association bids.

Road Works - Station Road/Beech Lane Junction
Work is due to start on 5 October 2011 to realign Station Road at it’s junction with Beech Lane, and to provide a footpath on Station Road near the White Hart.

The hours of work are not known but motorist should be prepared for some delays.
