West Hallam Parish Council are delighted to be taking part in the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, which aims to plant millions of trees across the country to celebrate the Jubilee this year.

On Sunday 20th March, councillors and volunteers, along with Scouts and Cubs, will be planting 140 saplings, supplied by the Woodland Trust, at the High Lane East and High Lane Central recreation grounds. This is a small but positive step towards fighting the impact of climate change within our community.

If you would like to take part in this project, just turn up at High Lane East from 09:30 – if you can bring a spade it would help, as would gloves, but these are not essential. Please note that parking on High Lane East is not good, and on High Lane Central there is no parking – please walk to the site if at all possible.
